Not Just Hummous, Ora Binur, Ma’ariv, May 24, 2007

The opening concert of the Abu Gosh Festival:  The Ramat Gan Chamber Choir, with the violinist Sa’ida Bar-Lev and members of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, conductor Hanna Tzur.

The program was compiled with great artistry, and included a short piece for choir, “Holy, Holy, Holy”, the short Puccini Requiem, the little known Violin Concerto which Mendelssohn wrote at the age of 13, and the Bruckner Requiem.

Hearing these magnificent pieces is an experience in itself, but it was strongly intensified by the wonderful vocal performance of the choir, the violinist, and the Philharmonic players, all of whom showed great devotion to the music.  Hanna Tzur conducted the concert at a high musical level.  The audience went wild from enjoyment.
