Mezzo Features the Ramat Gan Chamber Choir
Mezzo, Europe’s leading classical and jazz music television channel, is featuring the Ramat Gan Chamber Choir in a special broadcast, along with only 11 other choirs worldwide.
The Ramat Gan Municipality, led by Mayor Zvi Bar, worked closely with the program’s producers to present the city of Ramat Gan and the choir to Mezzo’s huge audience of 500 million listeners in 25 countries across Europe. A special concert was prepared, at the request of the producers, to show the choir’s versatility and high musical standards. The program included classical music, as well as Israeli and American compositions.
The production team spent 5 days in Israel, filming the choir in rehearsal, interviewing Hanna Tzur and members of the choir, and documenting sites in the city of Ramat Gan.

The highlight of the program was a gala concert, held on May 5, 2008 in the Yahalom Theater, in the presence of the Mayor of Ramat Gan, Zvi Bar, and His Excellency the Ambassador of France Mr. Jean-Michel Casa and his wife. The crew marvelled at the “electricity in the air” and great enthusiasm displayed by the choir, conductor, and audience. These will make this a most exciting program, when it is broadcast in the near future. |
