
Our Conductor
Hanna Tzur
Hanna Tzur is the founder and conductor of the Ramat-Gan Chamber Choir. She is a graduate of the School for Music Teachers, and the Musicology Department of the University of Tel-Aviv. She has studied with leading musicians, including Odon Partos, Eric Werner, Gerson-Kiwi, Hanoch Avnari, Michael Farkash, and Herzl Shmueli.
Ms. Tzur holds an Outstanding Music Teacher degree from the Israeli Ministry of Education.
A contralto, Ms. Tzur sang in the Rinat National Choir and the Renanim chorale, and has appeared as a soloist with the major orchestras and conductors in Israel.
In addition to her work as a conductor and voice teacher, Ms. Tzur has served as the Musical Director of the Abu Gosh Vocal Festival for the past twelve years. Held twice a year, this is the leading vocal festival in Israel, in which some 800 artists from around the world participate in a series of 18 concerts. She spent 10 years as Assistant Conductor to Ziggy Shtederman in an earlier version of the festival.
Ms. Tzur has conducted the Israel Chamber Orchestra, the Ramat-Gan Orchestra, the New Chamber Ensemble, and players from the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. She won accolades for her conducting of the Brahms Requiem, the Bach Mass in B Minor, the Faure Requiem, and Mendelssohn's "Midsummer Night's Dream" with the Kibbutz Chamber Orchestra.
